The Dandenong Festival of Light is back for its 2nd Year with a brand new show. Celebrating Chinese culture through a display of over 500 beautiful and unique silk lanterns.
The vibrant light displays, some of which are an impressive 20m wide and 8m high, come in all shapes and forms, including Chinese zodiacs, warriors, temples, mythical creatures, a wide range of animals and many more! It is a fantastic display to behold. To complement the visual experience, visitors can also enjoy the ambient music which will be played along the tree-lined paths, as well as the interactive sounds that some of the displays have making it a 4-D experience!
Celebrating Chinese culture through a display of over 500 beautiful and unique silk lanterns. The festival covers over 10,000 square metres.
For all the kids big and large the carnival will be back this year. Rides and a jumping castle will be on offer as well as all the flashing LED items you could imagine.
Nightly Chinese Workshops for the kids as well as roving performers. this will vary night to night. will include, Drum & Kung Fu workshops Stilt walkers, fire performers, Lion Dance. Check our Facebook for performance details.
A specially designed dumpling bar will be setup for the first at the Dandenong Festival of Light, a huge range of dumplings and buns will be on offer. All your Fun Festival Foods will also be on site for a fried indulgence as well as coffee cakes and ice cream daily.

Dandenong Showgrounds (Greaves Reserve)
Greaves reserves is located in the Dandenong Showground’s. Entry is via Bennet Street via Cheltenham Road or railway Parade.

There is ample free parking at Greaves Reserve.
Over flow parking is next to the festival on the Netball courts
Get off at Yarraman, one stop before Dandenong
At Yarraman station walk up the footbridge and head to the right and down to the road. Cross the road and head to the path, follow the path across the foot bridge then turn left. Continue for 5 minutes and arrive at Greaves Reserve.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Yes you can. Though we recommend pre purchasing to avoid a queue.
Can dogs come to event?
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on site unless they are a service dog.
Is there parking on site?
Yes there is free parking however our charity partner Variety would appreciate a gold coin donation for parking.
Is there food?
Yes there is on site food serving hot food, dumplings, coffee and lots more.
Can I get cash out?
No but all payment points have card payment available.
Do you accept American Express?
No – we accept Visa, MasterCard.
What time are performances?
Performances start at 7pm nightly.
